Evergreen Receives CMS 5-Star Rating
STAFFORD SPRINGS, C.T. — Evergreen Health Care Center in Stafford Springs, Connecticut has achieved a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
The skilled nursing center increased its Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) Rating in December 2023. CMS combines results from three areas including Health Inspections, Staffing, and Quality Measures, to get a combined star rating of skilled nursing facilities. The CMS Star Rating is based on a one through five rating scale, with five being the highest. According to CMS, a 3-star rating is considered an average rating for a skilled nursing facility.
Administrator Andrew Goodsell said the Evergreen Health Care Center team holds a collective vision for continuous improvement.
“Our commitment to providing compassionate, person-centered care has always been at the forefront of our mission, and this achievement validates our efforts,” said Goodsell. “I am proud to lead this team as we will continue to deliver successful outcomes.”
Lina Dureza, the Director of Clinical Services for Connecticut, said the center staff have worked tirelessly to achieve this rating.
“The employees are the center’s best and most important asset. They have worked tirelessly to achieve this rating. Their personal actions are reflective of the commitment to always provide excellent care to all the residents,” said Dureza.
Goodsell shares the team is extremely proud of the 5-Star Rating as the staff is committed to providing the residents with exceptional care and support to meet each resident’s unique needs.
